Chiang Mai is considered as the shopping paradise as one is lost for the wide array of unusual goods found at throwaway prices. The value for money is good though the quality is variable. Visitors coming to Thailand definitely move to Chaing Mai for shopping as it is considered the cheapest place in Thailand and moving around the town is easy.

Shopping in Chiang Mai definitely include handicrafts as the place is very popular as one of the handicraft centers of Asia. One can also go to the huge handicraft wholesalers at San Kamphaeng and for colorful umbrellas, to Borsang village. For those looking for the best selection of antiques, Baan Tawai to the south of the city is the place to head for.

Shopping in Chiang Mai also include the WEEKEND MARKET held on Sundays just outside Tapae gate is the perfect place to go for what is available from the region and more. The prices are better than that of the Night Bazaar and at the closing time of the market the goods are sold at throwaway prices.
